Dan Parolin
Dan is an accomplished and skilled business leader with over 30 years of broad experience across operations, finance, mergers and acquisitions / corporate finance, and corporate services.
As a commerce graduate of Saint Mary’s University, Dan went on to obtain his CPA (CMA), along with his Certificate in Human Resource Management, Total Quality and Productivity Management (TQPM), Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and courses in mergers and acquisition.
Dan has worked across a breadth of companies and industries ranging from start-ups, to medium-sized businesses to large corporate (private sector and healthcare) organizations. As part of the formation and amalgamation of the QEII Health Sciences Centre, he then went on to MT&T and Aliant, a large regional telecommunications company, working in their venture capital division.
As a leader and Vice President for Ernst & Young Orenda’s Corporate Finance Atlantic Canada unit, Dan lead many engagements related to buy-side, sell-side and business financings – with a focus on selling businesses.
Dan has also held business leadership roles as President of a construction company and General Manager (business leader) of a multi-location heavy-duty truck dealership.
Over the last nine years, Dan has been a Vice President and CFO helping companies on the larger/mid-size scale grow and deal with acquisitions, divestitures, financing/re-financings and many other corporate service activities – with spans of responsibilities including: legal, insurance, human resources, information technology and more.
In the past, Dan has served as Treasurer for Ducks Unlimited and was a board member of the Nova Scotia Cancer Society – Nova Scotia Division.
Dan’s passion is working with and helping to bring value to business owners / entrepreneurs. Thus, forming Impresa Advisory to be that trusted business and senior financial advisor to those small to medium-sized businesses that need this void filled.
Dan understands the interrelationships of business, its effects and balances – and more than just the numbers.
